Does the A in AI stand for Artist???

We've talked about the latest developments in AI and one classmate mentioned the concept of AI art generators. It's been mentioned that it's an issue for actual artists because now it could be a replacement for their true skills and commissions, losing them their business and ability to showcase their styles. I personally have seen AI generators like Lensa, it's own dedicated application available on mobile with premium features for a set price, and Midjourney, a Discord server with the sole purpose of taking people's imaginations and creating imagery from them, while also having premium features for different rates and resulting quality creation. All over Twitter, I've seen the use of AI art in place of hand-drawn, either on paper or digitally, put up for sale. I honestly thought it was bollocks at first because of how it replaces true artists. I've tried using Midjourney several times to bring (yes I'm a nerd for this) my imaginations of anime characters I've made in my head, as well as reimagining video game characters in different universes (like Scorpion and Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat in a Cyberpunk 2077-type format, Kratos from God of War in an Egyptian setting, etc.)
